Scenic Environments

Creating sustained garden environments has many areas of focus. It’s main objective is to reduce the negative impacts on the environment. It includes, minimizing waste, reducing the consumption of non reusable resources and creating healthy and productive environments. The most important part of our environment is water. Scenic Environments, Inc. has a unique vision about how to handle drainage from water shed areas as well as roof line water. We make sure we are recycling water to the best of our abilities within the boundaries of your property lines. Through the use of “rain gardens”, cisterns (both above and below ground), proper drainage techniques and the appropriate plant selection we are able to minimize the amount of non reusable water on site.

This sustainable design practice allows pollutants from roofs and other fertilized landscapes to be filtered before it hits our rivers and streams and eventually harms the environment and the habitats that thrive on them. Each step of our design process is carefully planned to encourage sustainability throughout the project. In fact, this philosophy is designed to also insure a bottom line that is more feasible.

Sustainable design principles may include:

  • Using recycled water for watering plants
  • Decreasing overall maintenance costs
  • Specifying plants that are low maintenance
  • Reducing the pollutants such as fertilizer and roof tar
  • Increasing permeable surfaces
  • Calculations for rain garden development
  • Comprehensive erosion control practices

In short, by using sustainable design principles, we are encouraging environmentally sound landscapes that are more feasible for our clients and that function well for their everyday life.
